AROHA Hair & Beauty is an established luxury hair and beauty salon in Newcraighall, serving clients across Edinburgh and Musselburgh. The reputation is already there — 5★ on Google, 187+ reviews, a loyal client base. What wasn't there was a website at all: the whole online presence lived on Instagram, Facebook and a Google listing. That's what I'm building — their first proper home online.
The challenge
This is the best kind of project to work on, and a common one: a genuinely excellent business with no website to match. The salon had the hard part nailed — the work, the clients, the reviews — but online, all of it lived on Instagram, Facebook and a Google listing. Strong as those are, they're rented space: there was nowhere of their own to send a new client, no home that linked straight through to booking, nowhere to advertise jobs, and nothing set up to be found by the people searching "hair salon near me" or asking an AI assistant for a good salon nearby.
The brief, in plain terms: a calm, confident site that looks as good as the salon does, gives clients another place to find them and book, gives the team somewhere to post jobs, and gets found by the right searches — by people and by AI — without locking the salon into a template they'd have to wrestle themselves.
What I'm building
- A custom-built, mobile-first site — not a template that looks like every other salon
- Services, prices and a gallery that shows off the work
- A careers page with an application form — because good salons are always hiring
- Local SEO targeting "hair salon Newcraighall", "beauty salon Edinburgh", "balayage Musselburgh"
- AI-ready as standard — schema and an llms.txt so ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot can recommend the salon too
- A booking link straight through to their existing booking system — planned for a later phase
- Individual Meet-the-Team profiles for the stylists — rolling out after launch
- A custom blog for hair & beauty content, good for clients and for SEO — rolling out after launch
The approach
Everything's custom-built and fully managed — I design and build it, then host and look after it, so the team never has to log into an editor or worry about updates. They get to do the hair; I keep the website doing its job. It's the same way I work with every salon and small business: built properly, found on Google and AI, looked after for them — without agency prices or a platform they're locked into.
The results
This section will fill with the real numbers once the site is live — bookings, search rankings for the salon's key terms, and how it's performing. No invented stats; just the genuine results from launch onward.
In their words
A few honest words from the AROHA team will go here once the project's live and they've had a chance to use it.
